Your Privacy Matters
What information does TripStitch obtain and how is it used?
TripStitch obtains information you provide when you download and / or register with TripStitch. Registration with us is optional. However, keep in mind that you may not be able to use some of the features offered by TripStitch unless you register with us.
The User Provided Data that you provide when you register with and use TripStitch includes:
Your name, email address, user name, password and other registration information
Information you provide us when you contact us for help
Information you enter into our system when using TripStitch, such as contact information and trip management information
Information downloaded from third parties during use of the app, which includes
When you authorize TripStitch access to your email, TripStitch may inspect the content of your emails to extract documents and metadata that may be relevant to your trips. Examples of such data includes, but is not limited to:
Purchase confirmations receipts, e.g flights, hotel accommodation, etc
Dates, times and locations of events and meetings
The type and content of multimedia and other email attachments
We use the parsed data in various ways to deliver features that help you collaborate and increase your productivity, for example we may:
Aggregate receipts and other similarly countable metadata into spreadsheets and graphs
Analyze the data for similarities or differences that allow us to suggest ways to collaborate better
Create shared calendars and itineraries for you and your collaborators
Automatically filter and categorize emails into trips, based on procedural heuristics or in accordance with email filters that you create
TripStitch also supports some features of classic email clients like viewing email, replying to email, etc; should you choose to use these features then TripStitch may modify the email data stored on your email provider. We will always endeavor to provide clear contextual feedback whenever TripStitch modifies your email data.
The above includes all email downloaded on your behalf from third parties like Google Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo, etc.
Cloud Storage (aka Drive)
When you authorize TripStitch access to your cloud storage or drive, TripStitch may create folders on your could storage and upload content to these folders, for example tagged images, flight confirmations, etc. TripStitch may also store other data, such as user-specific configuration files necessary for delivering features, on your cloud storage. TripStitch will only modify folders and files that it creates on your cloud storage; folders and files created by you or other apps on your cloud storage will not be modified, but they may be accessed and inspected for collaboration data should you authorize it.
The above includes all third party cloud storage services that you authorize TripStitch to use, for example Google Drive, Microsoft One Drive, etc.
When you authorize TripStitch access to your contacts, TripStitch uses the contact information for features like auto-suggesting contacts as you type; notifying you of the availability of your contacts; etc. This applies to contact data from third parties such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc.
We may also use the information you provided us to contact you from time to time in order to provide you with important information, required notices and marketing promotions.
Sharing your data via TripStitch Trips
TripStitch may share your data with your collaborators via share trips. More precisely, any TripStitch trip may have multiple members, each of whom has access to the data added to the trip. When you add content to a trip, TripStitch conceptually adds the content to a shared dashboard, which means content added to shared trips is implicitly shared with all members of the trip. Sharing data via TripStitch trips can happen in a number of ways, including but not limited to:
When you add content to a shared trip, you are implicitly sharing content with all members of the trip.
When you or one of your collaborators (i.e another member of a shared trip) invites new members to the trip then content previously or subsequently added to the trip may be shared with the new members.
When a TripStitch process automatically adds your content into a shared trip, the content is shared with all members of the trip; examples of such "processes" include user-created filters for automatically tagging emails matching specific criteria; system process that categorize trip-related emails like travel bookings; etc. Note that TripStitch will always prioritize your data privacy, so in some circumstances these automated processes may additionally seek your permission, notify you, and/or take other appropriate action before or after sharing your data if we believe the sensitivity of the content warrants such action.
The above applies to any data to which you have authorized TripStitch access, including but not limited to data from third parties such as Taggrr, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Cisco, etc. You may "unshare" you content with your collaborators by deleting it from the shared trip, therefore making it inaccessible by others members of the trip. TripStitch is, however, not responsible for content that users may have shared, copied or downloaded while they had access, so un-sharing via the supported methods on TripStitch does not guarantee privacy of your data. Ultimately you, the user, are responsible for what you choose to share with other TripStitch users.
How we access, use, store and share data from specific 3rd parties
The previous section described in general terms how TripStitch handles your sensitive data both you and from 3rd parties. This section describes how we handle data from specific 3rd parties (in compliance with the 3rd parties' privacy requirements):
When you log in via Google, or when you authorize TripStitch access to any of your Google data via OAuth, we may fetch your Google profile email address and name and store these as part of your TripStitch account profile. Should you choose to use your Google profile name as your TripStitch bio name then your name may be publicly displayed e.g on discovery search results; we do not otherwise share your name or email except when you explicitly do so.
When you authorize TripStitch access to your contacts on Google, we securely fetch, store and periodically synchronize your Google contacts on our servers so that we can enable you to quickly find your friends when planning collaboratively as well as building better shared itineraries when traveling with friends. Your contacts also help us to improve our recommendation algorithms to provide you with more relevant content for trip discovery. We do not share your contact with other users or 3rd parties.
When you authorize TripStitch access to your email on Google (Gmail), we securely fetch, store and synchronize your mailboxes on our servers to enable us to a) automatically detect and parse travel emails - flights, hotel reservations, etc; b)detect related travel emails and possibly process them further, e.g combining related emails into a single itinerary. We may share non-personal data from these emails, e.g hotel addresses and descriptions; travel time stats; travel deals; etc. We do not otherwise share your email with other users or 3rd parties unless you take explicit action to do so, e.g adding an email to a shared itinerary. We may modify your email labels on Gmail when related emails are bundled together into a trip, which allows you to be able to manage your TripStitch-related emails directly from Gmail, as well as allowing you to search quickly over over these emails from within the TripStitch app. We do not otherwise modify your Gmail email.
We periodically synchronize your Google contacts and email data on TripStitch servers until you revoke our access to your data, which you may do so anytime from your Google account settings as detailed here. We may continue to hold onto your Google data even after you revoke access, which allows us to provide for a better experience should you choose to continue using TripStitch, e.g for viewing historical data, or should you later re-enable TripStitch access to your Google data. To purge your Google data from TripStitch please contact us and we will respond to your request as promptly as we can.

We use this information to, for example, display directions to events on your calendar; send you geo-triggered or geo-specific notifications related to items on your agenda; etc. We may share your current location with your collaborators, otherwise we do not share your current location with other users or partners.
If you do not want us to use your location for the purposes set forth above, you should disable location services for TripStitch in your device settings or via the procedure recommended for your device's operating system.
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by TripStitch?
We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process
When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request
If TripStitch LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information
What are my opt-out rights?
You can stop all collection of information by TripStitch easily by uninstalling TripStitch from your devices and sending an email to email@example.com requesting to opt out. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your device or via the application marketplace or network.
